Brilliant color, a spicy fragrance and a nice habit for background planting in a perennial bed, Jeana is a fabulous tall phlox. What we love best, however, is the disease resistance. The big headache with average Tall Phlox is powdery mildew. But give Jeana well-drained soil and good air circulation, and its exceptional resistance will keep this variety mildew-free through the season. Butterflies adore the blooms, but deer generally stay away from the fragrant flowers. Be sure to snip a few blooms for a color pop in your fresh bouquets. This is a herbaceous perennial. It’ll grow 24-48″, then die back to the ground in winter. You can prune it in early winter or early spring, and it’ll grow again from the base.
