One of the most attractive of all Astilbes, Rheinland forms wonderful plumage of large, feathery, deep-pink flowers over attractive foliage. This astilbe is elegant and bold both in bloom and out of bloom, a statement-making perennial for ground cover or edging when planted in clusters. With a mature height of under two feet, Rheinland makes a picturesque perennial for front-of-border blooms or for lining a bed or walkway. The plumes are also excellent in cut-flower arrangements. Relative to other astilbe, Rheinland is a bit more sensitive to drought, so be sure to water these plants during hot or dry weather.
