Gorgeous Arisaema Tubers for Sale | Tortuosum
Do you march to the beat of your own drum? Or perhaps you simply cherish the odd and downright strange? Well, then you and this Arisaema are a match made in heav! Native to the Himalayan Mountains, Arisaema Tortuosum is among the most cold-hardy varieties, but it might earn a spot in your shade garden on character alo!
The 4-foot tall stalks emerge in early June, putting up two large, tropical palmate leaves that spread wide for a spectacular show. As the foliage unfurls, the pitcher-shaped spathe perched atop the stem opens to reveal a classic jack-in-the-pulpit bloom. As if that weren’t enough, a long, whip-like green “tongue” extends another 12 or more inches above the plant. Come fall, the flowers fade and leave behind bright red berries for songbirds. Enj!
