Developed by Professor David Wolyn of the University of Guelph in Canada, Asparagus Millennium has become a significant contributor to the Ontario Asparagus industry. So, we decided to try this variety for ourselves, and let us just tell you – we were amazed by its incredible productivity and high-quality spearsdelicious flavor that’s perfect for various recipes. Oh, but you don’t have to take our word for it – this gorgeous grower was named “Seed of the Year” in 2005 at the Royal Winter Fair in Toron! While Millennium is believed to be the happiest in heavier soils, our results indicate success with a wide range of soil types. Why not assess its performance in your own garde!

Note: There will be no harvest the first year as the plants develop their root system. Spears can be harvested starting in the second year and will increase year after year.
