Nothing evokes the joy of summer quite like Itoh Peony Bartzella’s extra-large, vibrant yellow blooms. This successful hybridization of a tree peony and a bush peony manifests the best of both varieties. The flowers form on strong, woody stems within winter-hardy growth, and they keep coming on side shoots for an extended bloom seas!

The flowers are truly a vision of magnificence, carrying a rose-like shape with long-lasting appeal. The outer layers are reminiscent of lemon meringue, becoming a more rich yellow tone toward the center. Tucked within the fluffy blossoms are flares of red color. You’ll detect a slightly spicy aroma when flowers are in bloom.

The exceptionally sturdy stems on this vigorous hybrid require no staking to support the 6-8″ blooms. Bartzella is compact, easy to grow, and sure to bring the sunshine wherever she makes a ho!
