We are very proud to introduce this improved amsonia cultivar from the renowned Dr. Keith Zary. One of the earliest harbingers of spring, Blue Glacier’s bloom colors bring the promise of clear spring skies. The color it produced in our trials is the bluest blue amsonia bloom we’ve ever seen. They’re further accentuated by the blackest black stems around. The leaves stay a nice clean green through the warm seasons, and then turns brilliant orange and yellow in fall. The habit is exceptional too—it’s a compact variety, which is important because heavy amsonia flower clusters have a tendency to flop. Growing to a mature height of 30″, you won’t have to crawl around staking stems for your display to look beautiful. It’s drought tolerant, deer resistant and ideal for the front border.
