Or, since two varieties are needed for pollination, let Tangy Green and another Urban Apple tree stand sentry around a door way. Several trees in a line along a side yard or back border will provide you with delicious home-grown fruit to set your recipes apart. Firm and tart, Tangy Green can stand up to baking and tastes great in apple pies. The tartness is also great for salads; because of its higher acid level, it stays fresh longer without browning.
